The Wānaka Community Workshop is a registered Charitable Trust registered in November 2020. We operate out of 15 Gordon Road, Wānaka from a light industrial building where we have a large Wood Workshop and Fabricate, a comprehensive sewing room.
We are funded by a mixture of membership subscriptions, manufacturing and selling items locally – principally to other non-for-profits, commercial organisations who sponsor us on an annual basis and grants from funders including the QLDC. We are incredibly lucky to have the support of our community to fulfill our mission.
In addition to knowing we are doing good work our sponsors and supporter benefit in many ways
Exposure To The Central Otago Community
The WCW is in a very visible site between one of Wanaka’s most popular brew pubs and coffee caravans. We have a growing membership and with so much construction happening in Wanaka there is a great community of tradies and makers.
By Sponsoring Us You Directly Help Our Creative Community And Our Communal Mental Health
Our members are loving having a space to create and share, we’ll bring their stories to this website soon but their gratitude for how it’s made their mental health journey is huge.
We Are Part Of An Essential Broader Community Of Non-For-Profits
As our facility has grown up we are increasingly working with other organisations providing a safe venue and resources for disabled learning, alzheimers groups, home-schoolers, kids holiday programs and more.
Online Social Media
We’re committed to building our social media on Instagram and Facebook and making it clear to our followers who makes the workshop viable.
Use Of The Workshop
If you are in the area, with prior arrangement your organization can use the workshop for training and/or events.
