The Workshop Hosts Dillastrate at Rhyme & Reason’s First Outdoor Gig

Friday 15th September saw Dillastrate and The Emily Alice Band perform in the Wānaka Community Workshop yard.

Rhyme & Reason, the brewery next door, pulled out all the stops to organise an amazing outdoor event combining the outside area of their area with ours to create a safe and secure outdoor venue with excellent music and beer.

The Emily Alice Band played first with a funky set and Dillastrate really came through with a high energy performance that had (almost) everybody dancing with big smiles on their faces.

Hopefully we’ll see more of these gigs. It’s so much fun being outside versus a stuffy bar and with everything finishing up by 10.30pm it played well for those who wanted to ski the next morning. This could be the missing music venue Wānaka has been looking for since … well .. the old town hall closed down in .. 1998?

Live music, there is nothing like it.
