MINT is a community agency who works towards forging great lives for those with intellectual disabilities in the Upper Clutha Region.
As part of their regular program MINT regularly attends the Wanaka Community Workshop. At the Workshop the team from MINT work with wood or fabric. This week’s visit was a bit special. The visit was part of MINT’s July school holiday program and the project involved the creation of a wooden bird feeder.
Over previous days the MenShed team had designed a sturdy bird feeder and fabricated the parts. All the parts were recycled materials donated to the Wanaka Community Workshop.
The participants from MINT each received a kit they needed to assemble.
Over the next couple of hours with a bit of help and support everyone completed their project. Great job!
Everyone gets to take home their work. Lets hope the birds enjoy their new feeding stations as much as we enjoy working with MINT.
